On Thursday, my former students from Slovenia came to visit, Dragana, Ilija and their one-year old daughter Tamara. We stay in touch via e-mail and have visited with them on our previous trips to Europe (they visited us in Macerata in 2002). We have just been talking and walking around the town, catching up on each others' lives.

Last night I attended a program at the Teatro Lauro Rossi. The theatre is only about 150 years old. The performance was a tribute to a local actor who died recently, put on by friends and the local artistic community. For most of the evening, the stage was too dimly lit for me to get any decent video of the singing or dancing or recitation or video clips from his performances. The exception came when the children's choir came out and sang Swing Low, Sweet Chariot - in English. Here's a portion.

OK, I know this is short but it's late.
