Today's agenda was "light" in one respect. We only met as a group from 9:15 - 11:15 this morning. We finished touring in town.
11:30-5:30 was spent moving the students in to their residences. Kim helped with the process back in 2002, when we had a car, and Filiberto was recovering from surgery. This time, though, we have no car, so we couldn't be of much help. I spent much of the afternoon in my office trying to finish prepping next week's class.
The big thrill for Kim and me was the arrival of our second piece of luggage - after 4 days. Just another one of those cultural differences. They located the bag Tuesday; it got to Ancona Wednesday and was delivered here on Friday. Kim wanted me to write a complaint letter, but I told her it would be a waste of effort.
The weather improved slightly today - there were brief moments of sunshine. We were able to see a little more as we walked around town.
With the arrival of the luggage, we were able to take copies of Food and Wine magazine down to the owners of Trattoria da Ezio. The September issue was about Italian food. The editor asked people to write in with their own experiences. I mentioned da Ezio. They truncated my message, but printed it in the Nov. issue. I brought them the Sept. and Nov. issues, which were well-received.
I hope for my first full night's sleep tonight. I haven't been able t get to bed before midnight since we got here.
